For this reading response I was assigned to the second set of readings which were How to Win at College by Cal Newport and Navigating your Freshman Year. In the first reading How to Win at College was a book written to give students tips and pointers on how to do well in college. I enjoyed reading it because I found a lot of similarities between his writing and my college experience. I agreed with many of the tips he made especially when he was writing about the proper ways to organize and spend your time and what the best ways were for studying. For the second reading it was very similar to the first in how the writers gave many tips they think first time college students should know. I liked reading it because I thought it was very similar to what we were discussing in class about the way the pages were arranged with the contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity.
